The order, end to end

How an order moves from your drawing to your dock

vncnc is a trading company and the seller of record. You buy the parts from us, we buy the machining from an audited shop in our managed network, and we manage that shop until the parts are on your dock. An engineer is assigned to your order when the purchase order comes in, stays with it to delivery and writes to you every week. The trading part explains the invoice. The management part is what you are paying for.

Six steps

What actually happens

  1. Send the drawing

A STEP file, a PDF drawing and the quantity. Two minutes of typing is enough to start, and an engineer reads it rather than a form parser.

  2. Quote and DFM notes

A priced quote with a lead time within 24 business hours, plus the one or two changes that would take real money off the part. If it is a poor fit for Vietnam we say so instead of quoting it.

  3. Purchase order to us

One purchase order, one invoice, one contact. From here one named engineer carries your order to delivery, and that is who you write to. You never open an account with a machine shop and you never chase one.

  4. We place and watch the work

The job goes to a shop in our managed network that runs that process, material and part size. Your engineer is on the floor while it runs and sends you a progress update every week: status at the shop, inspection results so far, any risk to the date.

  5. Inspection before packing

Parts are measured against your drawing. The report ships with them, and anything out of tolerance does not leave.

  6. Packed and delivered

Export packing, documents and delivery to the terms on your quote. One shipment, from one supplier.

How a shop gets into the managed network

  • RegistrationMachine list, largest envelope, materials run weekly, measurement equipment, export experience.
  • On-site auditWe go to the floor. Machines match the list, instruments are calibrated, and there is a real answer for what happens to a part that fails.
  • Trial orderA paid job of our own before anything of yours goes near them.
  • Regular workKept on performance: dimensional results, dates held, and how they behave when something goes wrong.

The checklist we audit against is published in full: shop audit checklist.

When a part is wrong

It is ours to fix. You report it to us with photographs and measured values, we take it up with the shop, and you deal with one company throughout.

The remedy that applies to your order is written on your quote and order acknowledgement, and the framework is in our terms of sale.

How we are paid

On the margin between your price and the shop price. There is no quoting fee, no engineering fee for DFM notes and no percentage added at the end. If we cannot make the part at a price that works for you, we say so instead of finding a charge.

Questions

About the way we work

Can I talk to the shop making my parts?

That is not how this works, and it is deliberate. You have one contact, one purchase order and one invoice. If you want to buy directly from a machine shop in Vietnam, that is a reasonable thing to want and we are not the right supplier for it.

You are a trading company. What stops you just forwarding my drawing?

Nothing, except that it is a bad business. A forwarded drawing comes back as a late or wrong part and we own the consequence, because you bought from us. That is why the shop is audited before it sees your work, the drawing is reviewed before it is placed, the job is scheduled with us in the room and the parts are measured before packing.

How do you choose which shop gets my part?

By process, material, part size, quantity and the measurement equipment the tolerance needs. A bar-fed turning shop and a 5-axis shop are different companies, and putting a part in the wrong one is how lead times and quality go wrong.

What do I get while the order is running?

A weekly progress update in writing from the engineer on your order: where the job stands at the shop, the inspection results so far and any risk to the date. Between updates you hear about the milestones that matter: material in, first article measured, run complete, packed and shipped. If a date is at risk you hear it as soon as we know, not on the ship date.

How do you make money?

On the difference between what you pay us and what we pay the shop. No separate service fee, no percentage added at the end, no charge for quoting or for DFM notes. The number on the quote is the number.
